Zone Status Indicators Each pair of channels or zones has a bi-color LED to indicate its operational status. These indicators provide quick and easy troubleshooting of the system. If the circuitry determines that a channel must be shut down due to excessive heat or low impedance (a short), only the channels that are affected will be turned off causing the zone LED to turn red. The remaining zones will continue to operate and maintain a blue LED status. Once the condition has been corrected for the zone in question, the status LED will return to blue. Note: When the power LED is red and the zone status LEDS are not lit (off), indicates the unit is in standby mode. REAR PANEL: 3. BUS Line Inputs/Outputs The MA1240a has two common or BUS inputs that receives audio signals from standard line-level audio sources and sends them to any or all channels. The BUS line outputs are direct feed-through to allow the BUS inputs to be fed to other amplifiers. Be sure to use high quality RCA cables that feature low impedance, shielding and high quality connectors. 4. Remote Turn-On Switch This switch selects the turn-on stimuli that will put the amplifier in ready mode. "Trigger" setting relies on 3-30V AC/DC voltage going into the trigger input to activate the amplifier. "Auto" setting senses a signal on the RCA line-level inputs and automatically puts the amp in ready mode. "On" setting puts the amp constantly in ready mode so that it can be controlled by the master power switch on the front panel. In "Auto" mode, the amplifier will take approximately 15 minutes to return from ready to standby mode. 5. Trigger Input/Output The trigger input is a handy feature when connecting the amplifier to an automated audio system. The 3.5mm miniplug jack will accept a 3-30V AC/DC output from another device, or from a separate power supply. When the trigger input is energized, the amp turns from standby to ON mode. When using the MA1240a with a receiver without a trigger output, the voltage can come from a 12V wall wart (3.5mm tip-positive connector) plugged into the receiver's switched outlet and the trigger input. The MA1240a can also provide an output trigger voltage (12DC @500mA max.) to turn on and off other devices in the audio system. When the amplifier turns off (standby mode), the voltage will drop to zero. Note: Remember there is a delay of approximately 15 minutes before the amplifier goes to standby when using the "Auto" turn-on mode. 6. Channel Gain Control Each channel has its own independent level adjustment. This allows the output level of each speaker to be perfectly matched to its area. It can also be used to limit the maximum audio level in a certain area. 7. Bridging Switch By simply flipping a single switch, two channels can be combined to increase the total power output. This is helpful when extra power is needed in certain areas. Note: The minimum impedance for bridged channels is 8 ohms. Also, please observe the proper speaker wiring when bridging channels. Input selection and volume settings for bridged channels will be controlled by the left channel. "BR" is bridged mode and "ST" is non-bridged or stereo mode. CAUTION: Only change switch positions when the amplifier is turned off. 8. Input Selection Switch Input Selection Switch Each channel is capable of delivering the source from many inputs. The three main inputs are BUS 1, BUS 2 and LINE IN. The selection for these inputs is done via the Input Selection switch associated with each channel. Select the desired source input. Set the Input Selection switch to BUS 1 (will play source connected to the BUS 1 input), BUS 2 (will play source connected to the BUS 2 input) or LINE IN (will play source connected to that channel's LINE IN). CAUTION: Only change switch positions when the amplifier is turned off. 9. Speaker Output Terminals The MA1240a uses high quality Phoenix style connectors (5 mm pitch) for the speaker connections. Use 14-18 gauge stranded two-conductor loudspeaker wire. Ensure that at least 2 inches of each conductor are separated. Strip away 1/4 inch of insulation from each conductor. Connect the appropriate conductor to each screw terminal, observing correct polarity. Also, please observe proper speaker wiring when bridging channels. 10. Individual Channel Input All twelve channels have their own dedicated input that allows the connection of audio sources in addition to the common BUS inputs. This is useful when using the MA1260 with an audio matrix switcher. 11. AC Voltage Switch The unit is set at the factory for 115V U.S. operation; simply connect the included IEC power cord to your wall outlet. For 230V operation, move the voltage selector switch to the 230V position. When operating at 230V the internal fuse located in the IEC socket should also be changed. In most 230V applications a separate power cord will be required and is not included. 12. IEC Power Connector The unit comes with an IEC jack that permits removal of the AC power cord. This allows the flexibility of changing the power cord for different countries. The IEC socket also houses the main fuse holder. Plug the power cord supplied with the amplifier into the amplifier and wall outlet or appropriate surge protector.

Daran hat sich auch beim Dolifet-Konzept nichts geändert. Wie bei allenABACUSVerstärkerprodukten werden die Endtransistoren hierbei quasi „verkehrt herum“ verwendet, wodurch schaltungstechnische Vorteile der Röhrentechnik genutzt werden können, ohne Röhren nutzen zu müssen. Der sogenannte „Drain“-Anschluss des Feldeffekttransistors (FET) ist lastunabhängig und daher optimal geeignet, einen Lautsprecher anzutreiben (Drain Output). Dank einer entsprechenden Regelschaltung reagiert der Verstärker sehr schnell auf jegliche Abweichung am Ausgang, z.B. hervorgerufen durch Nachschwingen der Membranen und regelt mit aller Kraft dagegen. Komplexe Eigenschaften einer Last wie einem Lautsprecher können den Verstärker nicht aus dem Tritt bringen (Load Independent). Die Eingangsstufe Für das aktuelle Modell des 60-120 wurde eine komplett neue Eingangsstufe entwickelt. Das Signal kann nun wahlweise über Cinch oder symmetrisch über XLR zugeführt werden. Nach entsprechender Pufferung kann per Schalter ausgewählt werden wie es an die Endstufen weitergegeben werden soll. Entweder im normalen Stereo-Modus; im Bi-Amp-Modus, wobei beide Endstufen dasselbe Signal liefern; oder als Monobrücke, wodurch zwischen den Plus-Anschlüssen die doppelte Ausgangsspannung massepotentialfrei zur Verfügung steht. Für den Betrieb als reine Endstufe kann mittels optionalem Festwiderstandsmodul der Pegel fixiert werden.Für die Zusammenarbeit mit ABACUS OEM-Partnern wurden Steckplätze für aktive Filtermodule in die Eingangsplatine integriert, sowie ein DSP-Board entwickelt. Allerdings wurde die Betriebsspannung leicht angehoben, was eine größere Leistungsumsetzung auch bei höheren Impedanzen der Lautsprecher (z.B. 8Ohm) ermöglicht. Die Betriebsspannung für die Leistungsverstärker wird 3-fach gefiltert und für die Steuerung, sowie die interne Signalverarbeitung wurden komplett eigenständige Netzteile integriert. Using the DAX66 PRE-AMP Outputs The DAX66 provides six stereo, unbalanced, line level PRE-AMP outputs, which correspond to the six-zone outputs. The PRE-AMP outputs can be used to connect powered subwoofers to a zone or additional amplifiers to expand the available power in a large zone or multiple zones. The DAX66 can be used as the master controller in large commercial audio systems with constant voltage 25/70V amplifiers connected to the PRE-AMP outputs. The PRE-AMP output levels are variable and are controlled from the DAX66 keypad, Infrared remote, or RS232 from an automation system. For best performance, the PRE-AMP output cables should be less than 25 feet long and be high-quality, shielded cables.   Connecting Source Components to the DAX66 The DAX66 provides six source inputs that can be accessed by any zone. Inputs 1-4 are stereo, unbalanced, line level source inputs via RCA style female connectors. Input 5 provides a connection for a personal audio device or PC sound card via the 3.5mm stereo jack. Input 6 provides one S/PDIF input for CD, DVD, cable, or satellite box via the Toslink jack, as well as a second 3.5mm jack. The 3.5mm stereo jack on input 6 takes priority over the Toslink connector. Do not connect cables to both the Toslink and 3.5mm jack at the same time. Input 1 can be used as a paging or global; all-zones, input. When a source is connected to input 1 and 12Vdc is applied to the PA-IN jack (tip positive) source 1 will be broadcast to all zones. If there is no DC voltage is applied to the PA-IN jack, source 1 will operate like normal.   Infrared Emitter Outputs The DAX66 has an IR repeater system built-in and each source has a corresponding Infrared (IR) emitter output. The IR emitter output is tied to the corresponding source device, or all (global) source control. Program a universal remote to operate all six of the input devices. Point the universal remote at the DAX66 keypad to transmit the IR control codes through the DAX66 to the source devices. With an IR emitter connected to an IR EMITTER output jack and the emitter placed over the source device IR receiver window, the source devices can be controlled from any zone.   Using the DAX66 12VDC Trigger Inputs and Outputs The DAX66 provides six 12Vdc trigger outputs which correspond to the six DAX66 zones. When a zone is powered ON by the DAX66 keypad, the corresponding zone sends 12Vdc to the trigger output jack. When the zone is powered OFF, 12Vdc is disconnected from the trigger output. The triggers can be used to automatically switch peripheral equipment ON/OFF. The DAX66 also provides a master control 12Vdc trigger output that sends 12Vdc to the CONTROL OUT jack when any zone is powered ON and disconnects the 12Vdc when all zones are powered off.   Expanding the DAX66 to 18 zones The DAX66 can be expanded to 12 zones with one additional DAX66 kit and to 18 zones with two additional DAX66 kits. Stack three DAX66, one on top of another. Connect the included 18-pin ribbon cable to the EXPANSION OUTPUT terminal of the bottom unit and the other end of the ribbon cable to the EXPANSION INPUT terminal of the second and then third unit.
