Monacor LS5-19 Speaker Kit
Homage to an Over 40-Year-Old Original
The LS3/5A is one of the absolute classics in the world of loudspeakers. Manufactured according to BBC specifications, this monitor is still very popular today. With the LS5/19, a similar speaker in terms of design and dimensions has been successfully developed. However, it was not intended to be a copy but an independent system with linear tuning and a current, modern chassis. The original acoustic tuning was further refined by the then editor-in-chief of the magazine Klang+Ton, Mr. Christian Gather.
We would like to quote his sound impression from Klang+Ton 3/2012 at this point:
"What the small Monacor produces is a wonderfully loose, dry, and round bass, and this applies to the free field as well as to the wall behind it. For those who judge sound solely from measurements, I can only warmly recommend a listening test of this small box. Genuine monitor qualities become apparent. The Monacor offers an impressive neutrality and the best resolution across the entire listening range. The vocal range is wonderfully clear and articulated, and the intelligibility is excellent even at low volumes."
